Learn through Play

We offer many courses from many topics from STEM to the arts! Students learn while having fun and creating new friendships. There truly is a program here for every child!

World of Minecraft

Students will utilize aspects of this popular game to learn to use basic controls, explore new worlds and plan, create and build their own buildings and landmarks as well as using the open world to make their own visions come to life.

Engineering Skills I

This course is designed to bring out the inner-engineer in each student. Students will learn to use several hand and power tools and will be trained to cut, drill and shape a variety of materials like wood, foamboard, plastics and sheet metal.

Engineering Skills II

Students will use the skills learned in Engineering Skills I to build a fun Engineering Project to be taken home. Project options available from topics in structural, aerospace, mechanical and energy projects.

Robotics

Students will build a Lego EV3 Robot and use LabView software to program their robot. Students will learn to program robot behavior using motor rotations, sound, light and ultrasonic sensors. Our curriculum module is designed to teach core computer programming, logic, and reasoning skills using a robotic engineering content. All this creativity and learning will take place while the students are enjoying themselves and having fun doing it!

Lego Construction

The Lego Construction Challenge program is intended for students who have some experience building with Lego bricks and who enjoy the challenge to make what they see on the box or use their imagination and create something new. Builders will take on the challenges of building unique vehicles, experimental structures, and awesome Lego models all while building valuable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving skills, and dexterity.

Kids Drawing

Students will explore various three dimensional materials and methods while learning new drawing skills. Students will focus on still life, portraits, interiors and landscapes from direct observation. All drawing materials are included.

Kids Kitchen

Students will learn the importance of following a recipe, measuring of ingredients, kitchen safety, working with other, sanitation, nutrition, and preparing different recipes. Students have a hands on opportunity to learn these practical kitchen skills and terminology. Students will also have the chance to sample dishes that they create in class. 

Creative Writing

Students will be taking writing to the next level through zany writing prompts, creative writing games, and a week long project of fracturing the ending of a beloved fairy tale of your choosing. This class will bring together all lovers of writing for fun and an imaginative week of creating!

Music Technology

Students will be introduced to the ability to create music through the use of computers or any digital media such as cell phones or tablets. Students will be provided with hands-on technology experience in order to gain a first-hand understanding of the cutting-edge innovations that exist in the Music Technology realm.

NEW: Rock Band

Or "modern band" as it's known in some spheres is an opportunity for students to learn to play cover songs from genres like pop, rock, country, and some hip hop from the last 60 years. The course will introduce the skills necessary to perform on electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass, keyboard, drums, and vocals. Students will also learn some basic composition and improvisation techniques. *Please note the instruments your child is willing to play on the registration form

NEW: World Music Drum Circle

World Music Drumming is an active approach to music making that allows students to explore, sing, play, create, move, feel, listen, and understand music in a short amount of time. Students will use drums to create rhythms and patterns that go along with many pop songs as well as African and Latin American cultural traditions. They will learn basic drumming techniques, sing great songs as accompaniment and learn some movements. 

NEW: Keyboard Camp

Keyboard camp is an excellent opportunity for students to begin learning the basics of playing piano. Whether they have experience playing or not, they will be able to work at their own pace to learn some techniques to continue playing throughout the rest of the summer. Students will also learn how to play a few basic chords that will help them play a multitude of pop and rock songs!

NEW: Guitar Camp

Guitar camp is an opportunity for students to learn the basics of playing guitar or expand on what they already know. Whether they have experience playing or not, they will be able to work at their own pace to learn some techniques to continue playing throughout the rest of the summer. Students will also learn how to play a few basic chords that will help them play a multitude of pop and rock songs! *Students should bring their own guitars.  

NEW: Video Game Music

Explore the history of video game music and create some of your very own video game inspired music! Using online music programs such as Chrome Music Lab, Soundtrap and Beepbox, students will be creating their own video game concept with characters and levels, and of course the music! Big imaginations welcome-we will be drawing, writing stories, and creating music!

NEW: Pops Ensemble

String and band instruments welcome! Bring your instrument to learn popular songs from movies, video games and the radio. Students with at least one year of experience on a string or band instrument are invited to join this collaborative class with a focus on well known music!

NEW: Around the World with Music

Want to travel the world in music and dance? Then this class if for you! Learn about the history and culture of countries around the world like Japan, India, Brazil & more! We will be learning songs, dances, and music from many places around the globe. Each day will feature a new country along with interactive videos with unique instruments, games, and lots about the culture.

Digital Photography

Let's go on a photo safari this summer!

Students will develop a good understanding of camera controls and techniques while photographing people, places, and things. Photo safaris and critiques will reveal tricks to make the ordinary look spectacular.

Students will leave this class with at least one print and lots of digital camera "know how". 

You won't want to miss this class !

Summer Band 

Students with up to four years of band instrument experience will gather together under COVID-regulations to expand their musical knowledge while learning new techniques and exploring fun and exciting pieces of music!

NEW: Jewelry Making

Welcome jewelry makers! In this new workshop we will design and create different types of jewelry each day. We will have fun by learning about the process and creativity of making jewelry, and the steps to create a masterpiece! Students will be able to understand the design process to create and customize their own unique earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, anklets, and more. We will experiment with a variety of materials allowing students to show their uniqueness and individuality in the world of fashion. Students will be able to express themselves, have fun, learn how to use their creativity to the best of their ability, and develop jewelry making skills. This workshop will challenge the students to inspire new ideas and make the most out of their artistic abilities!

NEW: Spanish Culture Program

In this program, students will explore the twenty different Spanish speaking countries of the world. Students will be taught basic Spanish vocabulary and engage in useful, beginner level conversation in the target language. Additionally, traditional cuisine, dances, and holidays will be investigated along with corresponding activities. Students will create arts and crafts related to the culture as well as learn about famous Spanish and Latino celebrities.

NEW: Dance

Students will be provided with multifaceted education from a professionally trained instructor while focusing on technique, diversity, and quality in an atmosphere of fun learning! Students will explore the basics of Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop while also participating in technique and flexibility exercises. Partnered games and activities will also be conducted in order for students to express their unique selves through the art of dance.

Summer Glee Club

Our comprehensive glee club experience will give students the opportunity to sing and dance popular music. Students will sing fun music while learning healthy singing techniques and building musical knowledge. At the conclusion of the last week we will have a showcase to show their new skills!

We are offering three weeks of our Summer Glee Club, each week will focus on different songs/performances.


Fashion Design

Welcome fashion designers! This workshop will cover something new each day related to fashion design. Campers will learn about fashion forecasting and will create mood boards showing fashion predictions. Students will use a croquis (fashion template) to trace and then design their own garments and outfits. Campers will learn about fashion artist Edgar Artis and create mixed media fashion illustrations. They will finish the week making a Trashion accessory!
